Abstract Nature
Her Majesty Queen Azizah of Malaysia returned to London Craft Week for a second year with ‘Abstract Nature’, an exhibition that showcases Malaysia’s rich cultural landscape through its extraordinary craft traditions.
Designed and curated by Judith Clark alongside architect Ryan Cook, the exhibition at the High Commission of Malaysia highlighted craft skills that have their roots in the country’s indigenous communities. The installation re-used materials from 2022, proposing a sustainable attitude to temporary exhibitions, this time inspired by traditional Malaysian architectural proportions. The exhibition featured master craftspeople at work as well as interactive workshops for visitors.
